We are seeking a Safety & Health Professional for an onsite role in the Bismarck, ND area, supporting a major heavy civil marine construction project for an estimated one-year duration. This position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Contractor’s Safety Program, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, and promoting a culture of safety across the jobsite. The role includes hazard recognition and control, emergency response coordination, and oversight of personal protective equipment (PPE) use.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the Contractor’s Safety Program for the Bismarck, ND project site.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead weekly onsite safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety protocols.
- Coordinate all emergency response activities and ensure readiness for rescue operations.
- Develop and approve site-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety plans.
- Monitor and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection.
- Exercise full authority to stop work and correct unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
- Investigate and document all incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports.
- Provide training and guidance to project personnel on OSHA standards and site-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations throughout the project duration.
Qualifications
Experience: 2–4 years in heavy civil construction projects within the United States, with a strong focus on onsite safety management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following:
- Safety Engineering
- Safety and Occupational Health
- Industrial Hygiene (IH)

Certifications: One or more of the following is required:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) by ABIH
- Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
Training:
- Completed OSHA-authorized 30-hour Construction Safety course within the last 3 years, including electives relevant to heavy civil marine work (e.g., Confined Space Entry, Hoisting, Safety and Health Programs).
Technical Expertise:
- Knowledgeable in current safety trends, hazard recognition, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to exercise full authority to stop work and correct unsafe conditions.
Preferred:
- Experience with site-specific safety program development and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Familiarity with PPE standards and respiratory protection protocols.
